How to Generate Coupon Codes in WordPress (For One WooCommerce Store)
Suppose the anniversary of your online store is at the end of November. Now you want to celebrate this moment with your users by offering them a Digital Coupon Management System and before using this system, 200 customers will get 50% discount if they buy all their products for 1 month.
Let’s see the procedure –
Step 1: Create a new coupon
First go to Marketing > Coupons > Add Coupon.
A screen will appear, opening the coupon code name and description fields. Give the coupon a title and add a description to help users understand how to use the coupon and its benefits. Scroll down a little to the coupon date. Configure setup options for smooth execution of discount codes. Here, there are three options in the menu on the left.

Step 2: Adjust general coupon settings
Here you can configure some default settings related to coupons. Select the type and amount of the discount, then select “Free shipping” or “Inventory status” and the expiration date of the coupon.
There are three types of discounts available for vouchers:
Discount rate: Depends on the rate you want to give to each product
Fixed basket discount: Works primarily based on the total amount of the basket
Fixed product discount: You can set the price of a specific product
Then enter the amount of the discount coupon you want to display.
The process is the same for all other types of discounts. You can enable or prevent free shipping, if you do not want users to benefit from free delivery. Finally, add the expiration date, so customers can notice coupons on the website.
Step 3: Configure user restriction partition
In the public tab, you will find the user’s limit partition. Here you can configure additional settings from your coupons:
- Minimum cost: This is the amount issued in the request coupon
- Maximum cost: Afternoon afternoon works to reduce depreciation
- Only individual use: Check if other coupons cannot cooperate with this coupon
- Deprivation of sales elements: Check if coupon does not apply to items for sale
- Products: Choose products that coupons are valid
- Product exclusion: Choose products that cannot be used for coupons
- Product Category: Choose groups that coupons are valid
- Deprivation of categories: Choose groups that do not apply to coupons
- Email limitations: List of emails with access to coupon – apart from comma
Depending on the information you surrendered in these fields, your coupons work. So go to the next section if you complete the above fields. Step 4: Set usage restrictions. You can find user limits in the Limits section. You can define how many times you can use your WooCommerce coupon. The number of products is the same.
- User limit per coupon: Determines how many times a user can use it.
- Restrictions on X Items-Applies to all eligible items in your shopping cart or selects a specific item
- Usage limit per user: Determines the number of users that can be used at the same time.
Once you have used the runes, all coupon settings will be applied according to your settings. However, the same procedure can be applied to all coupon types. How Coupons Work in Your WooCommerce Store (% Off)
We already know that you can set three types of discounts for your coupons. For example, Startup development company show how the percentage (%) discount works on a coupon code for specific products/categories/shopping cart.
Let’s go back to the shed we’re going to create. This is the anniversary of your online store where you want to offer 50% off for the first 200 users.
The rest of the settings are pretty much the same. Just set the usage limit per user to 2 (depending on how many times this coupon is applied to your users).
