Looking to rent a pickup truck in Dubai? You’re in luck! Whether you need to move furniture, need to haul materials, or just want to cruise around town with the roof down, there are plenty of pickup for rent in dubai that will fit your needs and budget. Read on for tips on where to find the best deals on pickup trucks and how to save money when renting one in Dubai!
Why you should consider renting a truck
You might think, It’s just across town—it won’t cost much at all. Or perhaps you plan on hauling lumber for your next DIY project and don’t want to buy your own truck. Before you go out and rent a pickup without thinking about it, ask yourself whether renting or buying is really going to be less expensive. For example, if you can get a used truck for $10K that has two years left on its lease, then maybe leasing makes sense.
On average, you’ll probably pay around $350 a month to rent a pickup truck with 20 or 30 cubic meters of space. You might not save much—or anything—by renting, but you might avoid paying for depreciation and maintenance on your own vehicle. A lot of vehicles wear out their tires within 50,000 miles (80,000 kilometers), so buying new tires every few years adds up quickly. Factor that into how much it costs you per mile over time to operate your own vehicle—and you’ll start to see why renting isn’t always more expensive than buying. Also keep in mind that when you buy a car, most states require that you pay sales tax on top of registration fees.
What vehicles are available
There are two types of vehicles that can be rented. One is usually an SUV or pickup truck, while you can also rent a hummer limo if you have enough people who want to go on an outing together. There are three locations that offer these vehicles for rental. They are Deira City Center, near Al Ghurair plaza; Jumeirah; and Burjuman Shopping Centre at Dubai Mall. The rates range from 100-150 AED per day depending on what kind of vehicle you choose and where you pick it up and drop it off. The pickup trucks vary greatly in size, so make sure you know how much stuff you need to carry before choosing one. Note: just like regular car rentals, insurance is required when renting any type of vehicle in Dubai.
Where can I rent from?
Most of Dubai’s pickup trucks can be rented from Al-Shorooq Exchange, also known as CEDEX. You’ll need your Emirates ID card to rent from them. Other car rental companies you can use for renting include Budget Car Rental and Thrifty Car Rental. The cost of renting varies depending on which brand of truck you choose and how long you keep it—but don’t forget that when it comes time to return your rental, you’ll need to refill its tank before dropping it off at whichever company you hire.
Deciding whether or not you want additional coverage will be important. Common additions include personal liability, collision and damage waiver, fire and theft protection, accident assistance and loss damage waiver. These can make your rental more expensive but will protect you from some of your financial risk if something does happen to your vehicle during your rental. If you’re interested in getting additional coverage for your rental, check with different companies about what options they offer so you can make an informed decision about how much coverage is right for you.
How do I pick up and drop off?
It is important to know exactly what your insurance policy covers, both now and if you have an accident. Every insurance provider has different rules and regulations, so check with your agent or policy document before you take your vehicle out on the road. Driving without insurance will not only get you into serious trouble but could land you with substantial fines. Your personal liability coverage can protect you from lawsuits resulting from accidents; collision coverage can reimburse you for damage to your car that wasn’t caused by an accident, such as if someone bumps into it; and comprehensive covers any damages regardless of how they occurred. It’s also possible for certain items to be excluded from certain policies, so make sure you understand exactly what does and doesn’t come under each kind of cover.
What does insurance cover?
There are quite a few things that car insurance doesn’t cover, like damage or loss of your personal belongings. For example, if you keep irreplaceable items in your trunk and they get stolen or damaged due to an accident you were involved in, your insurance will not pay for them. If you have expensive accessories attached to your car that can’t be easily removed (i.e. tinted windows), it is important to check with your auto insurance provider regarding coverage of these items as well. Most importantly, it is vital that you take pictures or make note of everything on and inside your vehicle prior to leaving it unattended!
